for every resident

In 2004, my family chose to live in the Lake Washington Ridge neighborhood of Newcastle for that smaller town feel with a back door to Bellevue and Renton. Minimal traffic and a low crime rate also reflected Newcastle as a gem that remains one of the top cities in Washington to live and raise a family.

Now, having lived in Newcastle for 13-years, I’ve witnessed overspending for buildings and consultants, overdevelopment of high-rise apartments, and increasing traffic gridlock that threatens the survivability of our city. As a fiscal conservative, my focus is on the top three priorities for the majority of Newcastle residents: public safety, maintenance of our infrastructure (roads, parks and trails), and minimizing our total tax burden. These decisions must be accomplished with input from the residents as the Council is your voice. I seek greater transparency and spending accountability for our hard-earned tax dollars.

For 35 years, I was a veteran of the Commercial Construction industry, retiring as Superintendent with projects in Redmond, Bellevue, and Seattle. Supervising large multi-million dollar projects, such as the Microsoft Executive Briefing Centers, buildings on Lake Union, and the I-90 floating bridge involved oversight of construction crews of 250 people, schedules, safety, budgets​, and communication with all stakeholders. I consistently delivered successful outcomes on time and under budget​.

I bring these skill sets to get the job done and take control of our city back to the residents, who are at the top of the City's organizational chart. I will ask the relevant questions, welcome citizen participation, and control spending.
